Argument in Academic Writing

Every essay presents an argument.  This is not to say that you will be hostile in your writing.  On the contrary, you will be very clear, logical, and persuasive in the essay as you assert your viewpoint—in 3rd person voice—and then provide a few sources to strengthen your argument.
